We are seeking solutions for the
SEVEN CHALLENGES
On September 18th, we will start to receive applications for the Open Innovation Contest 9.0. The 9.0 contest will be held in 20 cities in 18 countries. We call for solutions from all over the world based on following seven challenges; 1. Healthcare & Life Sciences / 2. Finance, Insurance & payments / 3. Automotive & IoT / 4. RPA & Back Office / 5. Storefront & Digital Marketing / 6. Data Distribution / 7. Disruptive Social Innovation.
In this contest, NTT DATA can provide three kinds of value to startups.
1. NTT DATA’s client networks
NTT DATA has clients at 260 bases in more than 50 countries across the world, including major corporations, public institutions and financial institutions that support the global community. If we are to discuss joint business with you, we would like you to leverage these networks of our clients.
2. NTT DATA’s solutions for the ICT social infrastructure
NTT DATA, due partly to its origin as a Japanese public corporation, provides a variety of ICT social infrastructures. For example, in the Japanese market, over 900 financial institutions use the Internet banking service “ANSER.” Using ANSER may increase the leverage 900 times in size. This is just one example out of many solutions and platforms across the world; they are looking forward to working with you. Moreover, with our well-developed R&D systems, we can provide startups with necessary advanced technology.
3. NTT DATA’s financial supports
There is a reason why this contest does not have a cash award for the winner. NTT DATA is serious about working together to create solution businesses that will change the world through this contest. To do that, a consultant team will be assigned to the winner to discuss and develop business together for three months. The three months hard co-work will lead to necessary financial supports. This is the major difference from other business contests.
Working towards achieving the SDGs
As well as the seven challenges mentioned previously, NTT DATA seriously aims to create businesses to solve 17 global challenges (SDGs) by mobilizing like-minded innovative startups all over the world, global major corporations and NTT DATA.
The global community is facing a variety of challenges such as described in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015. In order to solve these challenges, open innovation will play greater roles than ever so that people throughout the world can work together across national borders in advanced technology and new business models to create solutions. In particular, not only governments, NPOs and NGOs but also the private sector is highly expected to play roles in achieving the SDGs through business solutions. SDGs are drawing increasing attention, and initiatives to achieve the SDGs are gaining momentum nationally and internationally.
By combining ICT social infrastructure developed by NTT DATA, innovative technologies and business models of startups, and social infrastructure services of our clients such as major corporations, government agencies and financial institutions and forming the “triple win” business alliance, we can create new social infrastructure and solutions that will make the world more sustainable.
As part of the SDGs Global Startup Program in collaboration with Japan Innovation Network (JIN), the evaluation criteria for achieving SDGs will be considered in the selection for the 9.0 contest. The SDGs Spotlight Winner will be granted for an excellent proposal to create big businesses that may solve the 17 global challenges.
“Let’s change the world together.”
Together with NTT DATA, let’s create solutions and platforms that can be the first, innovative and new social infrastructure in the world.
“Let’s change the world together”!
We look forward to seeing your wonderful proposals.
