  • ScreeningAugust 2019 -
    1. Step 3:Screening of application documents
      The contest office will evaluate the application documents. Only the applicants who pass the screening will be notified of the result.
  • Pitch DaySep - Dec 2019
    1. Step 4:Regional pitch contest in each city
      Regional pitch contests will be held in each city. Up to two winners per city, representing different domain, will be invited to the Grand Finale in Tokyo for final pitches on January 24, 2020.
  • Acceleration
    Dec 2019- Jan 2020
    1. Step 5:Contest host will work with the winner(s) to maximize business opportunity.
  • Grand finale
    24th January, 2020
    1. Final:Selection of the Grand Champion and other awards
      Teams selected from regional contests will gather and give their final pitches in Tokyo and then the Grand Champion will be selected. An opportunity to interact with the audience including our clients, executives, and staff members in charge of new projects will be provided.
      There will be a preliminary interview on 1/23, the day before the grand finale.

Objective
We are seeking proposals for innovative big businesses that lead to a new global platform
by synthesizing service solutions provided by NTT Data and solutions proposed by startups.
Overview

NTT DATA Group companies in charge of each regional contest can submit a proposal to address the challenges in light of local issues. Following the selections in cities, the Grand Finale will be held on January 24, 2020, in Tokyo.

Proposals will be judged through selection by local contest partners as well as selection in each city. The Grand Champion will be selected by our business units around the world and external judges at the Grand Finale.

・novelty, feasibility, competitive advantage, growth potential, business scale, user needs, social impact, etc.

Awards

The winners of regional contests (top two companies from each city) will be invited to join the Grand Finale (final pitch), which will be held on January 24, 2020, in Tokyo. For the winner of the Grand Finale, NTT DATA and its Group will form a dedicated team to discuss the business for three months. In addition, an award from project leaders in charge of each thematic domain (Domain Champion, newly established) will be granted. Specific collaboration with the business units will be considered. Just as last year, SDGs spotlight Award will be granted to enhance collaboration with startups which tackle social issues.

Grand
Champion

To develop new business together with NTT DATA, the overall contest champion will receive a fund of up to 100,000 USD* for targeting POC with customers, as well as the support of a dedicated team of expert consultants and accelerators who will work together with the startup.

* Includes travel, operations, hardware and software associated with POC
